Mitsubishi’s eX, the industry’s best selling 5’ x 10’ CO2 laser, is now also available in a fiber format. Mitsubishi (booth S-1719) will be displaying a 6kw eX-F laser featuring the revolutionary “Zoom” head. This technology, developed by Mitsubishi Electric, modifies focal length (3.5” to 10”), mode (tem 00 to 01), and beam diameter automatically via cut conditions to optimize edge quality, speed, and processing range. The cutting head is important in a high wattage fiber, and the Zoom is impressive. Other features include the rock solid IPG fiber resonator, a new control that monitors assist gas and electrical consumption in real time, and the easy access power side door ideal for a lean environment. The popular CO2 style eX is by no means going away! A new model in the series will also be rolled out at the show.
Three fiber lasers on one automated line? Bring it on if you have Mitsubishi’s new MSC-V high speed automation. There wasn’t room for a triple in the booth but there will be a dual system with two fibers, the eX-F60 and NX-F40, on one MSC-V line. Check it out as it handles short cycle time nests and dissimilar materials on each laser with ease. What sense does it make to drop big bucks on high speed lasers if the automation can’t keep up? That’s not an issue with Mitsubishi!
The popular Diamond BB ball screw drive electric press brake is now available in a larger 6’6″ x 60 ton size, and at a price you’ll like. Among the many features of the Diamond BB-6020 is +/-.00004″ (one micron) precision ram repeatability. That’s one more zero than a conventional hydraulic, or a belt & pulley electric for that matter.
