Empty “Big Box” to Cutting Edge Fab Facility

The first reaction when entering Venture’s new 100,000 sq. ft. facility is “wow”.  Bright lights, high ceilings, and a super clean environment that reminds you more of retail than manufacturing.  There aren’t too many factories with power sliding doors, but Venture has them, courtesy of the former owner, Home Depot.

Empty “big box” retailers are a blight for many cities.  So Venture’s renovation and move into this facility was widely applauded by the Beaver Dam community.  Dignitaries from state and local government were on hand for the official ribbon cutting.

Venture is a proponent of lean manufacturing, utilizing Mitsubishi lasers and automation, Diamond press brakes, and Amada turrets in cells strategically placed around the shop floor.  This year they replaced their Mitsubishi LV laser with a new Mitsubishi eX, keeping the existing automation in place.  The laser swap was completed in a week.

A recent article in the FF Journal on Venture Mfg. discussing their rapid growth as well as their emphasis on lean appears in full here.
